The Supporting Character’s are Fritz Lowe, Mama, Papa, Dominic Lowe, Herr Krause, and Anna. The Setting takes place during the summer of 1960’s after World War Two, in East Germany, Berlin, Germany. Exposition, Gerta’s brother and father went to West Germany to search for a job and apartments. But, the Berlin Wall divides them before they are able to get back. Rising Action: The first sight of hope is when Gerta spots her brother on the other side of the Wall. During Beatles night Fritz confessed to Gerta about Anna’s bother plans to escape East Germany. The next morning, while walking to school, Gerta spots her father. He was pantomiming a dance, telling her to dig. Later on, they found out Anna’s brother, Peter, did no make it out alive. The Stasi found out that Frtiz knew about Peter’s plan before hand, so they bugged their house with microphones. Anna’s parents asked her to stay away from the Lowe’s. Anna and Gerta were both devested about not being friends but, blamed her brother’s death on her. The next day at school Anna passed Gerta a note. A drawing Gerta’s father drew, it was a building. After school, Gerta set out to find the building her father drew. But, she didn’t find anything. Oma Gertrude, Gerta’s grandmother, had fallen and broken her leg. So, Mama went out for a few days to help Oma. Furthermore, Gerta had found the building where her father wanted to find. Frtiz leaves a note saying, he is going to escape from the
