Curtin states, “Most people tend to judge others by the results of their actions and themselves by their own good intentions.” (Leah L. Curtin) When bad things happen to good people, it allows everyone to understand bad is not only directed to bad people. Bad things happen to good people to test their choices. Our life is based on all the choices we make in life; therefore it’s important we always choose the right thing to prevent bad things from happening to us. For example, individuals who get stolen from who tend to always make good choices end up paying for the consequences. This recently happened to me but I have to admit I made a poor choice of leaving my spare key in an unlocked vehicle. Although my poor choice didn’t hurt or harm anyone, I hurt myself by putting myself in that position. I would consider myself a good person, who makes good choices but sometimes the choices we make whether a person is good w’ont always have good outcomes. Like I stated earlier just because we always act or try doing the right thing doesn’t mean bad will never be brought upon us. This is to test our judgment and allow god to continue guiding us in the path he wants us to. When bad things happen to good people, I also believe it’s because god always has a plan and maybe something good will come from something bad happening. The most important life lesson is to accept life as it is and move forward. When others see bad thing happen to good people it allows us to come together in times of crisis and help each other. There are so many people in this world and we continue to grow each and everyday. From the tribes of third world countries to our very own family/friend networks in America we rely on others to get us through the tough times that we face. While we may not always make the best decisions, it is always a blessing to have someone there to pick up your spirits even when there is no way to change or affect the outcome in a positive
