There are a variety of pitches a pitcher can throw ranging from a Fastball to a Knuckleball. Another type of pitch is a Palmball. The Palmball pitch is a type of changeup. It requires placing the baseball tightly in the palm or held between the thumb and ring finger and then throwing it as if throwing a fastball. A projectile has an initial velocity (its speed and direction of motion). When a projectile is moving through the air, however, depending on the force of gravity, which causes it to move down toward Earth. It is also depending on the force of air resistance, which slows the projectile down. When air resistance is low, a projectile moves in the shape of a parabola.
