After reading the article I have learned that, the problem of air pollution that China is facing is not something new, in fact, it was an environmental problem that they ignored for some time now. Within the first three months of 2015, it was reported that the air that the people of Beijing were breathing was extremely dangerous for their health, and that in more than 360 cities in China, more than 90 percent failed to meet national air quality standards. The problem with the burning of coal is that it causes smog, acid rain, global warming, and toxic air emissions. Coal pollutes the air when it is mined, transported to the power plant, stored, and burned. For countries such as China, and even the United States, coal is what generates a majority of the electricity that is used. It will not be easy to completely eliminate the use of coal, but use of it needs to be lessened or else other countries will soon face the same problem that China is now
