For one to conquer as much land as Alexander has been able to do, one must show an incredible amount of leadership. Seeing as Alexander grew up watching his father, Phillip II, King of Macedonia, be able to transform Macedonia into a forceful and great military empire, there is no doubt that his father taught alexander a few things. As well as his father, Alexander’s tutor, Greek philosopher Aristotle, gave Alexander training in rhetoric and literature. Alexander had to mature at the raw age of 16 when his father assembled a large army to invade Thrace, and left Alexander with the power to rule Macedonia in his father’s absence. Although his expansive realm inhabits a large population, his army’s size never exceeded 40,000. He does this so he and his army are able to move quickly and efficiently. With his army, he has been able to conquer Persia, Egypt, Syria, Mesopotamia, Bactria, and the Punjab. His army is loyal, courageous, and ferocious. Alexander’s ability to scout his enemies and act rationally in both decision and action making puts him under the ‘Most Likely to Die with a Great Honor’ superlative. Alexander’s battle tactics are very ‘in the books’ worthy. He is innovative and sneaky when it comes to strategizing military acts and he is also excellent when it comes to analyzing battlefields which helped him create a name for himself as well as conquering all the territories that he did.
