Alexander The Great Alexander the II of Macedon, born July of 356 BCE to King Philip II of Macedon and Olympias, the daughter of King Neoptolemus I of Epirus, is considered ‘the great’ for both his military genius and diplomatic skills. He is even said to be the inspiration for other conquerors such as; Pompey, Caesar, and Napoleon (Alexander The Great). By far the most important achievement of Alexander was the fact that he spread the Greek culture and language to other civilizations, thus strengthening the Greek influence on the western world.
When Alexander was younger he was trained how to fight and ride horses by Leonidas of Epirus, a relative of his mother, and his father hired
