Juror two (Soft determinist/compatibilist): We can have circumstantial freedom even if our choices are determined by prior causes or in other words metaphysical freedom. Metaphysical freedom in my view is to do with a different universe than we are not in. Metaphysical freedom is almost saying we have a God like power to choose what we do solely from our prior causes. Circumstantial freedom is just that we are still in this realm and can still make our own decisions but with affects still taking place. We are still in cause and effect but we choose what happens.
Juror one (libertarian): I don’t buy it, this is nonsense! We are in control, circumstantial freedom is ridiculous! Todd is responsible and can change in jail!
Juror three (hard determinist): No! He had no control on what he did, why would he need to go to jail? We are just machines made of flesh and jail will not change his “moral” compass.
