The Italian nanny’s perspective about Easter was mainly a “party”. “ Easter is a party for to eat of the lamb” ( Sedaris, 178 ). The French teacher argued that Sedaris was incorrect, because she believe that a big bell brought the chocolates and David believe the rabbit was the one. Meanwhile the Poles claimed it was “ a party for the little boy of God who call himself Jesus “ ( Sedaris, 177 ). By analyzing these various views of just one holiday, it a perfect example of the different cultures and perspectives each person had. David seemed to be confused, and does not know which is right or wrong.
Sedaris was honest about his father; Lou was one of David’s biggest supporter, but also his biggest enemy. Lou was sarcastic by calling David a “Smart boy”, when he knew he wasn’t meaning it. David’s father got him into drugs which then, impacted this worldview. “ I’m an artist.. This isn’t some party game ” ( Sedaris, 55 ) . David wanted his problems avoid, because he did not want to be looked different and treated
