From King’s famous I Have A Dream speech he will always be remembered as a hero and a symbol for anti-segregation. He is well known for his non-violent actions against segregation. King served in the Birmingham Bus Boycott as leader fighting for his and every other African American right to sit where they please on a bus. From the bus boycott being successful his name grew bigger and became more famous in the Civil Rights Movement. In Albany, Georgia King started a series of non-violent anti-segregation protests in Birmingham, Alabama in the Spring of 1963. Since the protest was a success, King’s leadership was well known and got stronger. From the protest being successful it was one of the most momentous achievements of the Civil Rights Movement. As months pass by King was leading black and white people in the March on Washington Fighting for jobs and freedom. On that same day in front of 200,000 and people watching from their television, he gave his I Have A Dream speech. Finishing his speech, he leaves the people with three sentences that will always be remembered. King writes himself “Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!” (King). Even though he did not succeed he still tried for much more just like running for president for president. Later on he finally apologized for what he tried to do during the segregation era. Since he is dead he will always be a name that is brought up when talking about segregation for his actions that he made. Same goes for Martin Luther King Jr, all his work was successful. He did everything that he wanted and everything that the black community wanted. His voice, and name will always be remembered for demolishing segregation.
