For example in the background there is a village burning and the smoke and the fire have curvy lines. The curvy lines not only shows direction but color also and its red then turn to a dark gray until eventually black. Beyond the burning village we can see the mountains and their actual straight lines and implied curved line are thicker and they are more visible. The artist uses a dark yellowish color to describe these mountains as if it's late afternoon or early morning. The actual lines are all over this painting, they are used to set boundaries and outline objects, like the outlines from the robe and the wounded man. The similarities in this painting are the revolutionaries’ man and the horses “subjects”. Another unity used by the artists is the way he uses colors while they are different colors the touch the feel is the same. Variety can be viewed all over this painting color, subjects or even geometric shapes. For example, in subjects we have man, horses, the village and maintains. Balance – In the painting of The liberation of the Peon, the balance is uneven the right size feels more heavier.
