1). Considering the qualities mentioned on quantitative data it is evident that the main research methodology used for collecting data in the Pew Report is quantitative. For the objective of this report it would appear that the research method conducted was appropriate because it shows factual numeric information regarding peoples usage of the two social networking sites. For example, 17 percent of U.S. adults used Twitter compared to 66 percent of adults that used Facebook (Barthel, Shearer, Gottfried and Mitchell 2015 p. 6). In relation to this study/report there are numerous other data collecting methods that the researchers could of considered. For example, the researchers of the report could have considered using the following styles of studies that include, cross-sectional, longitudinal, trend and cohort study. For the purpose of this report a longitudinal study/cross sectional study seems to produce the same results as a quantitative based study. As they provide greater insight on how research is conducted that include identifying the correct procedures and how research is conducted ethically. Therefore, conducting research correctly is an important skill to attain because it helps further peoples understanding on particular issues and topics.
