John Smith, owner of an American government contracting company, contacted my office in regards¬ to an examination of a floppy diskette. Mr Smith confiscated the diskette from an employee, Klaus, who had been fired and, within the hour given to him to leave the premises, was found to be copying documents onto the floppy diskette. When Klaus was told by Mr Smith that the files and diskette were company property and must be given back Klaus appeared to edit the diskette before giving it to Mr Smith who locked the diskette away until I arrived at his office.
Objectives
As Mr Smith suspects that Klaus is working with competition on a large government bid, the objective of this examination and report is to evaluate what was done to the diskette by Klaus and report all findings to Mr Smith so that he can take appropriate action.
