The ancient Maya were a tribe well known for their unique games and art forms. Their art was essential in telling the stories of their past. They also had many fun board games, the main one being Bul, along with their famous sport called Pok-A-Tok. The main board game that they like to play was called Bul. The game could be played by two people or by equal teams. The game was a war game that was about killing and capturing the other teams pieces. This game may have had some insight on what their lives looked like. For instance this was a war game a historians think that one of the Mayan downfalls was war. They had all different assortments of art such as paintings, pillars, statues, dying, jewelry, portraits, and stucco covered buildings. They had statues that were over 6ft tall and intricatly carved to perfection. Most of their painting were made in Bonampak, they were painted with red, black, yellow, and blue. They invented the technique of making color. The bright turquoise color was a color that was unique to the Mayans. A lot of their history was recorded on large pillars called Steala. Both the men and women of the Mayan tribe wore jewelry that was made from a variety of materials such as stone, wood, ceramics, jade, and bone. They also covered their buildings with stucco and painted them. Part of their artistic culture included dance and music. They had more than 5,000 dances and many different instruments.
