To get one or not to get one…..There are many opinions about whether vaccinations are good for you or not. “A vaccine is a biological preparation that provides active acquired immunity to a particular disease”(Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation, n.d. Web. 21 Jan. 2016.). There have been many arguments since the vaccines came out, and still there is not one decision on this concept. You can’t be on one side or the other if you don’t know what a vaccine is, the good sides, and the bad sides.
Many people around the World get vaccines which is a substance that contains germs but fights off big viruses when you are about to get them. “Vaccinations protect you from specific diseases that can make you very sick, disabled or even kill you. They boost your body's own defence system, which is also called the immune system. Vaccines create immunity that protects you from an infection without causing the suffering of the disease itself”. Most articles take a side. Are they good, or are they bad? Northwest Center for Optimal Health says that, “The disease [that the vaccine gives you] is self limiting and gives you life-long immunity. Mild symptoms occur with the vaccination in as little as 1 out of 6 people. Severe allergic reactions & death can occur (very rare).” When you think you are doing something good, that might keep you from getting very sick, at the same time you are putting germs into your body. New Health Advisor states, “Some people are more susceptible than others. It is not possible to eradicate all diseases.” There is not a 100% surety that you will be safe from the germs put in to help protect you, and that they will react correctly to fight off big viruses. Moreover, there is a risk in your health of making the choice to be
