Florida has been placing in the lower 25% of many surveys and national test scores. In the state of Florida a shocking 1 in 4 students can write at their grade level. Florida children are receiving an F-rated education. A large majority of Florida kids still can't adequately read add, and write. Iowa is known as one of the smartest states in the nation with its students consistently outperforming their neighboring states on national standardized tests. Besides traditional programs, Iowa colleges offers on the job training, and continuing education. Iowa's students are known to be very hard workers, when these students move into the workforce they will be improving the industries. Both of these states have a wide variety of activities to partate in. Like I mentioned before Florida is on the coast which means… Beaches. Day trips to the nearest beach are a favorite of many. On the beaches many people hunt for seashells, take a dip in the ocean, or people choose to be a beach bum and work on their tan. There are plenty of other activities in the Sunshine State. There is the option of an airboat tour of the Everglades which includes an alligator sighting. The Everglades are 1.5 million acres of wetland preserved on the southern tip of Florida. Disney World is a trip in itself. There are countless activities just in the parks of Disney World. There is an aquarium that houses Winter the famous dolphin that lost its tail from the movie Dolphin Tale. Florida is known for their citrus so it would not be a bad idea to stop buy a citrus farm and pick some oranges while visiting the Sunshine State. Iowa may not have Disneyworld or beautiful beaches but, there are some entertaining things to do in Iowa as well. Dubuque, Iowa is filled with many historic buildings and features. The Fenelon Place Elevator is a historic elevator used by the miners to travel home for lunch back in the 1880s.
