In overall, this paper summarizes and analyzes Systematic Review of the Management of Incontinence and Promotion of Continence in Older People in Care Homes by Roe et al. (2011). The article was selected for critique because it provides an evidence-based outlook on the prevalence and management of urinary incontinence (UI), one of the most common illnesses among people age 65 and above. The outcome of this research is instrumental in understanding strengths and essential weaknesses of current practice and allows healthcare providers to utilize best practice in providing patient-centered care. In addition, urinary incontinence affects patients’ quality of life and puts a strain on organizational budget, by the increase in the cost of supplies, laundry and staff time.
