This paper has presented the environmental and historical overview of the most important archaeological buildings still in use in Arwad Island, the local climatic conditions of the island, and the indoor thermal measurements in summer. By analyzing the results obtained in the historical buildings, the most values of the temperature and relative humidity exceeded the standard for sedentary activity during summer conditions that can damage the building structure and materials, cause a human discomfort, and promote mold growth. Measurements results confirmed the importance of providing cross ventilation and the need for reducing relative humidity in summer.
