The inside of the Prewitt’s house was decorated with lots of antique furniture, obviously collected from the many years that they have been together. There were many pictures on the walls and in frames sitting on the various pieces of furniture, mostly consisting of the pair on various trips, close family members, or of the many prize-winning horses they’ve raised and owned.
Avery made her way inside to the family room where the couch sat near the back door, while Gladys walked back to the kitchen to finish breakfast. She could see Frank’s figure underneath a large crocheted afghan.
As she neared the couch, Avery sensed that something didn’t feel quite right. She took a minute to look around, to try and figure out what it was that gave her an uneasy feeling, but everything was in its place.
