My first example that I found most endearing to me is my research topic this semester on “Babies behind bars with their incarcerated mothers”. It presented much analysis on the truth, accuracy, along with the presentation of evidence. I chose that specific topic because I felt as though the problem deserves more light to it because it's not much of a known topic, but I thought it was important to let my fellow classmates know about how important this topic is and why it should be made more known around the world. This story has much significance on the stereotypes of African American males. Some examples are they're thieves or loud, obnoxious, ignorant gangsters with over-sagging pants that may deal drugs. Sometimes that may be the case, but their are some well-educated, nicely-dressed black males also. What separates the two is how they were raised or who raised them,the motivation they had to do one or the other, hanging with the wrong crowd, and etc. What caught my attention in the story is the women nursing and guiding Johnny throughout his recovery time in the hospital without the help of any men around to show that a child doesn't necessarily need that father figure in his/her life to fully develop.
