This source is important because it tells people or explains to them so important information and it also will help me answer basic questions about bacteria. Bacteria are the most abundant forms of life and a bacterium has a whip like thread (flagellum) that is used for swimming. “Also a bacterium has a cell wall for a tough protection, a cell membrane controls which substance enters or leaves the cell, and cytoplasm contains chemicals that help work, grow, and divide”( Kindersley). This is important because it tells what a bacterium has and what it uses it for which will help me explain some pictures of bacteria and what part of the bacteria is what. : “Pea and bean plants such as soybeans use bacteria called Rhizobium which convert nitrogen straight into amino acids” (Kindersley). “Bacteria in the soil release’s nitrates, a usable form of the element nitrogen” (Kindersley).Bacteria …show more content…
“Bacteria cells can be pulled and stretched or compressed in one dimension” (Kadner). “For the shape rode shaped the bacteria can get 0.5 um in diameter and 2 micrometers long, the spherical the smallest is about 0.5 to 0.25um, and the last one corkscrew 0.15um in diameter but 10 to 13 in length.” (Kedner). Each bacterium grows and separates independently of any other cell. This is important to my research and my experiment because it tells about the size each shape normally gets and it answers one of my questions as well. Bacteria are proven to prefer to live in saltier environments; also they are known to grow bigger in salty environments too. “Bacterium does require organic molecules to provide their carbon and energy” (Kadner). They also have a transport system that uses sugar only to transport. This is more important information because one it will help me ask better questions and two if I’m asked questions like this I can answer straight also because it tells about their habitat and what the bacteria likes
