Bardugo always is able to exaggerate and spread the mood from the book to the reader. A example of this is from Bardugo’s book, Shadow and bone,” I didn’t want to think about Mal anymore. Bardugo can describe a person to the point where the reader can see the person right in front. A great example of this is from Bardugo’s book, Shadow and Bone ,” He had a sharp, beautiful face, a shock of thick black hair, and clear gray eyes that glimmered like quartz”(41). In this piece of evidence, Alina is describing the marvelous features of the Darkling who happened to be in her presence. This piece of evidence is so descriptive that the reader can see the Darkling just as they close their eyes. Bardugo always has a certain way of being descriptive that can literally be seen as you read. A final example on how Bardugo uses imagery to an extent, is from her novel, Shadow and bone, “ Her wavy hair was deepest auburn, her irises large and golden; her skin was so smooth and flawless that she looked as if her perfect cheekbones had been carved from marble”(90). In this last piece of evidence, Alina had first gotten to the Grisha palace and is admiring the beauty of her personal servant/ tailor. The piece of evidence is , yet again, so descriptive that the reader can literally see the character as you read. As a result of these pieces of textual evidence, readers can easily see that Bardugo is one of the best authors whose words can be so descriptive. In summary, Bardugo is one of the very few authors who can write so amazing it’s takes your breath away. Bardugo
