As I have stated previously, technology is not one of BayPort’s strengths as an organization. Compared to other financial institutions, BayPort is behind on technology. An example is not being able to process payments via credit or debit card over the phone or online. Most people today use a card for everything and there should be a way for BayPort to find a way to do so. However, with anything new, it will cost and I think it is an expense that either BayPort does not want to do or cannot afford to do. On the other hand, BayPort has been listening to the suggestions from our members, employees, and key leaders in regards to technology over the years. Recently, BayPort has offered a way to make loan payments online from another financial institution and have an updated app that members can use to pay bills and transfer funds. Ethics is one of the first topics discussed in the textbook in regards to organizational behavior. It is precedent over other topics because ethics influence the conduct of individuals and organizations (Kinicki & Fugate, 2016).
