Standardize testing is extremely beneficial to the student because it is a testing skill that most parents agree on, parents see where their children are not doing well after the testing is over, and try and help them improve in those areas. This is a helpful tool for the parents and teachers that cannot truly see where their students are struggling because they study hard before they are given a test and remember the criteria that they need for that day, not fully applying in their life styles. Accordingly, other parents do not think this way and they believe that students are not benefiting from standardized testing because a test shouldn’t be the only way to judge a student on their performance in the classroom. This is because some students aren’t good at testing and become very stressed out when a test is in front of them and can not preform to their highest attempt. Standardize testing could cause anxiety in children, which could make them not preform well, also some students are better in the classroom than in a long test. Some parents believe that it is not fair because their children are doing so well in the classroom and maintaining a 3.5-4.0 grade point average but cannot recieve a score higher than a 14000 on their SAT’s. These test are given to the children not to only see what they know, but also to see what the school is teaching them and where the school is standing. Therefor do the many people who are giving out the tests care about the children’s score or the way the school is preforming. The schools preformance is a huge situation for the teachers, principles, communities, because this is where there funding comes in. They believe this is so helpful to the student because if school funding is given to the school because of their childrens test scores, the school must be doing something right.
