Out of the total beer industry about 95.1% are men and the 4.4 % of beer drinkers are women. A large number of these drinkers are said to be white who favor domestic light beer, followed by domestic draft beer. “The light beer has a strong following from female drinkers” (beer-brewing.com). Last year’s winner for the poll, “Adult beverage of choice this year” was beer. In fact, for almost two decades that has been the type of alcohol they imbibe most often. 41% of U.S. drinkers report they typically drink beer; 31% wine and 23% liquor (Gallup). With that being said about 64% of U.S. adults say that they “have occasion to use alcoholic beverages” where as half, at 36% are identified as total abstainers. According to Gallup, an American research company, this is on trend for the company since they first researched the percentage of “U.S. adults who drink alcohol” back in 1939. Most of the Americans who drink alcohol seem to do so regularly. 67% who were being used to research said that they have had at least one alcoholic beverage within the past week, where as a quarter said they have most recently drank within the last three months (Gallup). Within the research of this study it was shown that drinking is normal for about four in ten Americans with beer being the drink of choice for many
