Introduction
This review investigates the use of brexpiprazole, a recently approved antipsychotic, for use within the realm of treatment options for schizophrenia. Considerations such as efficacy, tolerability and safety are explored.
Methods
The strategies used within this study were initiated by employing the use of placebo, aripiprazole and brexpiprazole groups whereby researchers could compare and contrast them in different trials. Treatment innovation was measured by the total number of new drugs introduced, and then by taking that number and arranging them by creativity and originality. Estimated expenditures for new drug research and development were presented using sources that were both public and private in nature and published on an annual basis. In addition, these data sources were confined to each respective disease analyzed. Lastly, comparing the actual burden caused by each disease and then comparing garnered investment was analyzed (Macewan et al., 2016, pp.17-18).
Results
Data indicates that the level of innovation and overall investment is considerably lower than other noted diseases and conditions. In addition, the information also proclaims that in spite of the overall burden mental health conditions cause, pharmaceutical innovation and investment in research and development continue to remain low (Macewan et al., 2016, p. …show more content…
Facets such as the importance of the caregiver role in the process, Work-related Social Skills Training (WSST) and Individual Place and Support (IPS) integration are all considered.
Methods
In this study, qualitative findings were derived by employing the use of fifteen patients and fifteen caregivers, with the patients being diagnosed for two years and the caregivers having taken care of the patient for at least three. Results
The overall trend demonstrated throughout the study indicated that the role of a caregiver both during the employment process and after is paramount to the success of the patient and their overall integration into the workforce. Interviews were also conducted on both sides which demonstrate the satisfaction the patient has with the ISE program, as well as with caregivers (Yu et al., 2016, pp.
