In the early stages it is not considered to be an appropriate sentence as children cannot use grammatical words such as “The, And” as the child’s language develops they begin to create longer sentences such as “Kitty is playing with the string” Speech language pathologist Caroline Bowen says children are starting to use grammatical elements in their everyday speech.
