• Provide an introduction to the leadership of the organization o Introduce yourself, as site coordinator, and your roles and the importance of it to Camp Noah. Site coordinators are the direct contact for Camp Noah and so you are well-connected. o Explain the role of the main office Camp Noah staff o If a Camp Noah staff is present during orientation, introduce the staff and they will be talking about the mission and history of Camp Noah.

o In 2006, Camp Noah grew into a nationally recognized program in response to Hurricane Katrina and are serving children whose communities that have been impacted by natural disasters and other collective trauma.
• Description of the programs and services of the organization o Camp Noah has only provided one program and the parent workshop is a new service that we want to implement in addition to the week of camp.
• Description of other groups working in the same field, and their distinguishing characteristics from this organization o We often partner with other organizations that work in the disaster recovery field. What typically separates us from them is that we serve communities during the long-term recovery phase. Most organizations are active during the immediate relief phase and therefore does not have programs that continue with the recovery process and they help support us.
• Description of future plans of the organization o We hope to expand our curriculum to other culturally specific communities and to other types of disasters, both natural and human-caused disaster.

o However, the Parent Workshop Facilitator, even though they are a part of the local volunteer, will have a training.
• An introduction to record-keeping requirements o Since this is a one-event volunteer opportunity, we don’t necessarily have to record volunteer hours for this position.
However, the event is roughly about 3 hours long and we do expect there to be individual outside preparation work. We will discuss it more during training. o Volunteer do have the responsibility of reporting clients that attend the workshop.
• A description of the culture and etiquette of the organization o Volunteers have t-shirts that are provided by Camp Noah. They are expected to wear it at all time when they are volunteering. We highly recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes, whatever helps the volunteer be comfortable in their role.
