The satire Candide was written by Voltaire, making fun of the day to day life two hundred thirty years ago. The satire in the story are sometimes used today for example; the way he made fun of the royalty, military,and women. Also candide was excited and full of joy in the learning of the world making Him slow to start and believing everything that he hear.’Pangloss was always telling me, and I see that everything is for the best.’ So some of the story still replies to today's everyday life.
For example they way he makes fun of women, i believe the story was making fun of women in a way. He makes fun of the baroness by calling her three hundred fifty pounds. This takes away respect to her because My mom always said that “U never tell or ask a girl her weight.” This was greatly use until The Great Depression because of the women rights campaign. this when women started to get right like to vote. this was also when women started working in factories.
