The first step is a pivotal step in the development for a canned food sculpture. During the planning period, the sculptor has to figure out what the canned sculpture is going to be; for example, the sculpture of the breast cancer sign. Once the sculptor has figured out the appearance of the canned food sculpture, he or she must take into consideration the different elements of the sculpture, such as the solution to building the sculpture, color, or shape. For the breast cancer sculpture, the sculptor has to decide whether the sculpture is going to lay flat on the ground or be a three dimensional sculpture. If the sculptor decides not to do the breast cancer sculpture, the sculptor will decide which solution would be the best to create their sculpture. After the sculptor decides the solution, then he or she will figure out the dimension of the cans. For example, whether the cans are going to be wide or narrow. For the ribbon sculpture, the ideal can would be a wide can. The reason a wide can is ideal is because the sculptor will need to buy less cans as opposed to using narrow cans. Once the sculptor figures out the size of the can, the sculptor begins to decide on the colors; whether the sculpture is going to be monochromatic or polychromatic. Then the sculptor will decide on the shape of the sculpture. Once the sculptor figures out the shape, the can size, solution, and shape, then the sculptor …show more content…
Before this step, the sculptor had decided on the appearance of the canned food sculpture. If the sculptor decide to build the ribbon sculpture then he or she would need a few things. First thing the sculptor will need is sixty wide cans and the cans must be the same size. The second thing the sculptor will need for the ribbon sculpture is any color of duct tape. The color of duct tape depends on whether the sculptor wants it to be monochromatic or polychromatic. The last thing the sculptor will need is cardboard. If the sculptor decides not to do the ribbon sculpture, he or she should make sure to have a check list. It is crucial for the sculptor to have the right amount of cans and the right dimension. If the sculptor does not have the right dimension, then the sculpture may look disorientated and the outcome will be different from the original plan. A way for the sculptor to reassure him or herself is by double checking the supplies that was
