1.1.1 Emergency Lighting Testing
British Standard 5266: Part 8, 2004 (BS EN 50172: 2004) - Emergency Lighting Systems say that the ‘owner’ or ‘person who has control’ over the premises is responsible for a number of actions and tests in respect to the building’s emergency lighting system, to ensure compliance in securing the Means of Escape under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Monthly and annual testing, combined with the routine maintenance must be carried out by a professional electrical contractor in respect to the building’s emergency system. An Emergency Lighting Log Book is to be kept up to date, and events recorded in it.

As well as making a provision for fire extinguishers, all efficient fire extinguisher maintenance and servicing should be completed in accordance with BS 5306-3 2009 and part 8 2012. This is a legal obligation and falls under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (Article 17). It will also require LCM keep their equipment in good working order and make sure they are always located in the correct places within property.
WP would advise having firefighting equipment (extinguishers, blankets, etc) serviced/inspected by a competent expert annually; further expert advice on the matter should be sought by LCM.
