Title: Effects of Climate Change on Fauna
One of the most important issues facing the world today is climate change. Most of the scientists believe that human’s carbon dioxide production and other greenhouse gases are having a heating effect on the atmosphere, and this causes climate change. Climate change can be caused by both naturally and human abuse and can have communal, economic and ecological effects. There is irrefutable truth that climate change affects animals, plants and birds in both their lifestyle and activities. If humans continue to produce greenhouse gas emissions, climate change could cause mass extinction of animals, birds and plants. …show more content…
Increasing temperature is producing a great change in climatic circumstances. Species threaten by effects of climate change are already exist world-wide. For instance, polar bears could be extinct unless the global warming slow down. In addition, sea turtles are another example for the risk of extinction. Rising sea level is also threatens Brazilian beaches that sea turtles lay their eggs on. Climate change also threatens the sea turtles’ offspring, because shell temperature mostly determines the offspring’s sex. The colder eggs produce male turtles however the warmer eggs produce female turtles. This warming nest trend causes reduce in the number of male turtles and decline in turtle …show more content…
Researchers have found decreasing of up to ninety percent in specific kind of birds. Population declines generally have a number of fundamental factors including habitat fragmentation, habitat loss and pollution. Birds are very weak because their food and habitat cannot move as fast as they can. Fluctuating global temperature is one of the factors that threaten birds. Precipitation is another issue of climate change that significantly influences bird species. Scientists expect fluctuating precipitation levels to significantly influence the behavior of birds, specially the lifestyle of migrant species of birds. Researchers also expect precipitation fluctuations to affect species’ choices to leave for migration. Drought in critical pause points along the migration routes of birds also affects the ability of birds to prey before life-threatening trip. As an outcome of irregular precipitation fluctuations, many migrant bird species populations could decrease in the near future. Climate change is also supposed to cause more extreme weather, which can affect the existence of both the adult and young birds. Because some species of birds are pushed to their limits along the migration route, extreme weather conditions may reduce some birds’ skills to reach their nest on
