This change in work roles, has increased divorce rates and single parent household, headed by the female while, also affecting the health of women. Research has shown, that the employment of outside the home has, increase the overall psychological and well-being of women. Especially, if they are able to demonstrate some sort of control over what they do at work. On the other hand, various jobs that are performed by women are not of high complexity, which can reduce the possibility of satisfaction in the workplace. In addition, sex discrimination and sexual harassment on the job can add more stress to working women. Women have a tendency to internalize their feelings of distress by turning their feelings inward on themselves. Causing anxiety and depression to be more dominant in women rather than men.
