Furthermore, I have also been presented with an extensive knowledge of not only possible crimes and how to solve them, but also the names and histories of the people that have been convicted of such criminal acts. However, in many discourse communities, it is common knowledge that Aileen was one of the first documented female serial killers, whose case has caused much controversy over the years. Family and friends often find it extremely strange that I harbor many facts about killers and their crimes, but I have come to learn that I am not the only one who takes interest in exploring the darkest parts of human nature. Discourse communities provide a sense of welcome and safety, even when discussing the most taboo topics.
