In the beginning Macbeth is seen as an devoted husband and a nobleman of Scotland. He is respected by his Kinsman whom he served for, by putting down Macdonwald’s rebellion. But this all changes with the three witches. The three witches encountered Macbeth and Banquo as the two soldiers rode from the battlefield. The sisters make three prophecies, the first two regarding Macbeth and the last regarding Banquo. They stated how Macbeth shall be named as Thane of Cawdor and then King.
“All hail, Macbeth, hail to thee, thane of Cawdor!” Stated by the second witch, act 1 scene 3. “All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter!” Stated by the third witch, act 1 scene 3. McBeth started to see things, he slowly became crazy. He saw the bloody dagger( the one he used to kill Duncan) and he thinks that it's witchcraft but in reality it's just his mind playing tricks. Soon after that he kills the chamberlains out of rage and easily takes the kingship.
He's becoming more power crazy and ambitious he became scared and insecure about his kingship, and thought that Banquo and MacDuff were trying to take it from him so he took charge and hired murderers to kill Banquo and his son. Macbeth orders for Macduff's family to be killed because he discovered that Macduff has fled to Duncan's son, Malcolm in England. Macbeth is suspicious that his downfall might be. He was successful in the killings and caused MacDuff lots of pain and agony. he did this to save himself so he could be more powerful.
