In Europe most of the artwork corresponds to the Renaissance period. According to Popham, Renaissance corresponds to at least two hundred years from 1400-1600 AD. The classical art from Romans and Greeks was revived and also a concern was given to the secular life. This was a great era of exploration and discovery where nature and whole world was examined. Artists in Renaissance period were taken as personalities (Popham, 1945). The artists were also involved in finding solutions for visual problems and perspective of mathematics was developed in that time. The painted picture was thought to be the window to nature and painters painted many natural types of scenery like landscapes, flowers, trees, mountains, plants and skies etc. Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most famous artists of renaissance period and he introduced a whole new idea of art. According to Nicholl, This painting was painted between the years or1503-1506 and is the portrait of a woman. Though the painting shows a simple woman who is beautiful and young, it became famous all over the world and brought immortal fame to Leonardo. The painting was famous for the mysterious smile of woman in it and stayed the subject to ponder and speculate for centuries. Many studies were made on the woman and people tried to find out who wshe really was. She was guessed to be Mona Lisa Gherardini, who was a courtesan, however later she was suggested to be Lisa Del Giocondo, who was a wife of merchant.
