Throughout these reading, the immediate family was the main view point, especially in the second reading (Davies, 2004). The view of big families was only brought up in the last reading (Christian, 2006), when a family was being invited to a school event. Though the readings spoke about small families, immediate families, the theory can also be applied to bigger families and extended families. The theory could also be applied to groups outside of just families, just as I saw it being applied to groups of friends. Though it may not be to the full extent of the theory, friendships do have the general concepts being applied. While the analysis of these readings brought up may different ways that this theory could be applied, these were only two ways that the family systems theory could be applied. No matter what way you look at this theory, it is clear that a family, or friendships, does not consist of just an individual. A family and friendships consists of multiple individuals participating together and becoming one. No matter how small or how small, the family systems theory can be
