The topic of communication sciences and disorders is irrefutable one of the most popular areas of study in today's modern institutions. It is a compelling subject because the technique behind speech and hearing education is fascinating. Educating myself with the different tactics on how to approach each disorders is exciting. Furthermore, significant therapy techniques must be applied in order to treat individuals since everybody is unique, this fuels my excitement in learning. What I am determined to do is to supplement my education with early intervention techniques so that I can work with children and help better their developing lives, thus bettering the lives of all people in society. The opportunity presented itself to me during my spring semester of 2015. While I devoted about three or four times a week while still attending school, I widened my proficiency within the subject. My responsibilities were to mainly spend time with the children, and make them comfortable before the therapy sessions. I also organized appointment times, answered phone calls and emails, organized client files, read books to the clients before their sessions, and play games with the clients before their sessions. I also was given the task to write out ideas for the clinic's spring newsletter. The students that I helped ranged from 5 years old to 12 years old. These responsibilities included, but were not limited to, observing children during playtime and assisting them with homework assignments. Students that required more attention were provided with extra tutoring in math or reading were accredited to me. I would aid the children with tactics aimed to target their focus. Children who are not participating in a specific activity do require a significant amount of care and devotion, an attribute I have. These attributes were also useful elsewhere. Any experience on how to aid children is valuable to me. Each and every impact I am able to have in child’s life cannot be compared to anything else. During my time at the special education summer school, I was specifically assigned to aid children with autism. The objective was to educate the children and to teach them how to remember their daily routines of school, just until the normal school year began. My responsibilities were to help the children with worksheets (such as math), help them interact with one another, and to help them to follow directions. That was my first experience to work with children whom had autism and it was an eye opening
