Did you know that there are more than 100 tribes all around the United States? If you didn't know, now you do! One of the most popular trips is the Cherokee. The Cherokee tribe has an estimated population of 300,000 people which are among different states such as: Oklahoma (being the most populated), South and North Carolina, Tennessee, etc. The Cherokees have lots of aspect similar to the regular American, such as in their language (english) and their religion (christianity). But they’re very different in some aspects, they’re a very impressive culture.

Some still observe clan traditions in matters of marriage and some social events. Nowadays there are seven Cherokee clans: The Anigatewi (Wild Potato Clan), Anigilo (Long Hair Clan),Anikawi (Deer Clan), Anijiqua (Bird Clan), Anisahoni (Blue Holy Clan), and the Aniwaya (Wolf Clan). Each clan has its own color and wood.
There lots of interesting traditions with many symbols that represent important beliefs. There are two numbers that represent various things, this number are 4 and 7. The number 4 represents family forces and cardinal directions. Number 7 represented the 7 clans and also associated with directions. This is some of the cultural stuff this numbers represented. Also the circle shape was an important symbol, it represented family,thats why all tribe meetings were forming a circle.
The Cherokees are a very advanced tribe in terms of organization and structure. This is one of the biggest tribes for their amusing beliefs and culture that has spread through lots of parts of the USA.
