High blood cholesterol is one of the main factors for heart disease in men and women in the United States. The relationship between cholesterol and coronary heart disease is when too much blood cholesterol build up in the artery wall causing narrowing of the artery causing too much blood cholesterol to build up in the artery wall causing narrowing of the artery also known as Atherosclerosis. Narrowing of the artery and too much cholesterol in the body is normally the cause of stroke, heart attack, and peripheral vascular disease and may cause even death.
