Mary Rowlandson was captured by Indians and taken from a Puritan settlement with her children in the middle of the harsh winter. Mary had a child who was six years old, and while they were at the Indian village the child died. She said “ About two hours in the night, my sweet babe like a lamb departed this life, on February 18,1675 (Rowlandson 38).” Mary’s daughter also lived in the Indian village , but she lived in another wigwam.Therefore, Mary was separated from all of her children. These people were willing to come to a new land just so they could practice their faith. They did not know what this new place would entail, but they went on the journey anyways because their faith in God was so deep-seated.
