Ever since Gatsby returned from war, he is eager to go back to Daisy and the relationship that they once had. But, what Gatsby refuses to accept is the fact that Daisy has changed and has a whole new life. "Oh, you want too much!" she cried to Gatsby. "I love you now – isn 't that enough? I can 't help what 's past." She began to sob helplessly. "I did love him once – but I loved you too” (Fitzgerald 132.) Once the Youngers received the $10,000 insurance check, things finally started to look up for Walter. He thought that his dream of opening a liquor store would finally begin, and that his family would start to live a better and financially stable life. “Do you know what this money means to me?
