Also, the intentions of the Communist Party and the Kuomintang are totally different. The Kuomintang believed the Three People’s Principles can make the nation more democratic and liberal. However, the Communist Party followed the ideas of Marxism-Leninism. The difference in intentions between these two parties made the Kuomintang decided to purge the Communists in the Party and suppress the Communists.
The treatment toward citizens between the American Civil War and the Chinese Civil War was totally different. During the American Civil War, in order to destroy the resistant will of the Confederate, the Union took the strategy of destroy South’s military resources completely.
