While this is going on the constant nagging of the goldfish act as a reminder to the children that the cat should not be there and must leave. All ends well, the cat and Thing 1 and Thing 2 are completely gone right before the mother returns home and everything is back to normal. In the movie, The Cat in The Hat starring Mike Myers and Dakota Fanning is quite different from the original book.At the beginning of the movie, it includes the whole town and the neighborhood instead of the outside of the house which the book just shows the outside of the house colored red.The movie keeps the same storyline of two children being left alone at home with nothing to do and then it begins to start raining. Sally uses a digital journal to keep track of her day which is planned at last minute since she has no friends because she is bossy. However, her brother is the complete opposite. In the book, sally brother has an unknown name. Which the film adaptation they give him the name “ Conrad,” which he is very untidy and seem to be quite the troublemaker. Instead of the mother being “out for the day,” as in the book, the movie modernized the character of the mother to be a hard worker. She is a realtor with a needy boss. Her boss and her colleagues will be joining her house this evening and she instructs her children to keep the house nice and tidy. Of course, that will never happen when the cat appears in the movie. In the book, it includes only the mother which her name is unknown, and two of her children named Sally and Conrad and of course the cat. The film which makes it different from the book is modernized with new characters introduced throughout the movie which they are known as babysitter named Mrs. Kwan, and boyfriend of Sally and Conrad's mother named Quinn and her boss name Humberfloob. In the film, Sally, the young girl, has been made out to be controlling and a freak with no friends. As for Conrad has been made out to be a troublemaker and doesn't do what he is told to do but instead, he does the opposite way. I find the motion picture more entertaining with the newly added
