Abstract
The aim is to report a concept analysis of nosocomial infections. This analysis is needed because the concept of infection control is relevant in all aspects of nursing. The definition of infection control is “policies and procedures used to minimize the risk of spreading infection, especially in hospitals and human or animal health care facilities.” (Farlex, 2017). Consequences

The hospitals are not reimbursed by Medicare if the patient is readmitted with a nosocomial infection within a certain number of days or acquires a nosocomial infection while in the hospital.” There are many cost involved including ancillary cost and increased resources cost. “(Barbaro, 2012)
