The carbon dioxide that is in the blood is pumped from the heart through the pulmonary valve to the lungs. The lungs will then filter out the carbon dioxide via capillaries where the gas exchange happens. The blood returned to the heart is rich oxygenated blood that will be circulated through the entire body. The right side of the heart is where the pulmonary system is located. The systemic system is responsible for circulating blood throughout the entire body. The purpose of the systemic system it to provide oxygen and nutrients that are needed to the entire body. When blood is returning to the heart through the veins it will carry the waste and carbon dioxide that was produced from cells and blood. Once the blood reaches the heart the process is then repeated over again. The systemic system is located on the left side of the heart. (Frazier, M. (2013).) With both systems working together the heart receive oxygenated rich blood that is needed to keep the heart
