Culture is a mixed bag. Offers individual closeness, mutual support, a sense of identity, and other advantages; but these advantages come at a price. As with other cultural traits, may appear at first as aspects of personality-expression rather than the behavior of individual uniqueness shared by a larger group.

Another concept related to the suitability of minority influence. Minority influence is the extent to which a small faction of the group maintains different positions on issues affecting the group during decision-making. This influence is mainly dependent on information and consistent adherence to the position, the level of defection from the majority, and the status and confidence of the members of the minority.
Effect of information occurs when people change their behavior in order to correct. In a situation where we are not sure of the correct response, we often look to others who are bettering informed and more knowledgeable and use their excellence as a guide for our own behavior. In the classroom, for example, this may involve agreeing with the assessment of other classmates who you consider to be very intelligent.
