Decision making is a complicated task that humans have to do to succeed in life. For almost everything that people do, they have to make decisions and weight the pros and cons of their decision. Goldsmith (2013) explains that the management process involve the ability to think, the desire to act and the desire to see results. In this paper, I am going to explain how I am going to set a plan of action to succeed in my life about being a full time student, and a full time worker, without leaving my two children and my spouse unattended. I will explain how I will use the six steps decision making model in detail through this paper; I will incorporate other resources as well.
Step 1: Identify the Problem, Need, Goal or Desire First of all, a problem that I am facing is in regards of becoming a full-time college student and a fulltime employee. Goldsmith (2013) states that behaviors are guided by the values that people have. One of my family values that guide my behavior is to set an example for my children. I come from an illiterate family who did not have the opportunity to attend school. I would like to break that cycle, by becoming the first person in my family to become a college graduate; becoming a college graduate will set a different path for my children. However, another value that I have is to give the best at my job.
