Karma implies the consequence of someone’s actions will have an effect on what happens to them. Karma is all about cause and effect on someone’s life, karma is a main belief in both Hinduism and Buddhism. “Certain Buddhist lineages also teach that one’s own actions in this life dictate one's circumstances in the next life” (Flannelly, Ellison, Galek, Koenig 96) Buddhist believe that the choices someone makes on a daily basis affects their place in reincarnation. If someone was to make exceptional choices every time they got a chance then they would increase in the social circle. “Like Hinduism, Buddhism seeks liberation from the cycle of life and pain and suffering that goes with it.” (Flannelly, Ellison, Galek, Koenig 96) Hindus want to be free from the cycle just as much as Buddhist does. Both religions see the cycle as pain and suffering because they just want to reach the end of the cycle to their heaven like place. “The goal of humankind in Hinduism is to escape the cycle of life and suffering which it entails.” (Flannelly, Ellison, Galek, Koenig 96) The entire goal of both religions is to finally escape the treacherous cycle of life, death, and rebirth.
