The color blue stands for liberty, vigilance, truth, and loyalty, red represents the blood of heroes, bravery and strength and white for salvation, peace, and honesty. The flag was designed by founding father Juan Pablo Duarte. The color white is a cross in the middle which divides the four rectangles in each corner. In the top right and bottom left corner is a red rectangle and the top left and the bottom right is a blue rectangle.
My second feature is the Dominican Republic coat of arms. The Dominican Republic coat of arms features a shield and has similar colors as the flag, supported by two leafs; the leaf on the right side is called the palm frond and the leaf on the left side is called the bay laurel branch. In the center of the shield shows six spears. The front four hold up the national flag. Also the center of the shield has a bible reading “ conoceran la verdad, y los hará libres.” but in english it means “know the truth and the truth will set you free.” You can find this in the holy bible in the New Testament, John
