Since the visual sense is dominant for most people, eye contact is an especially important type of nonverbal communication and is considered one of the most effective in the creation of a powerful communicative link between two people. After they are introduced, the viewer can see that Jenny and William make direct eye contact and have a similar expression on their faces when gazing at each other with their eyes locked together. Their eyes are open wider than usual, their attention is firmly focused on one another, the length of time between eye blinks is greater, and the duration of their eye contact appears to be prolonged. These characteristics of staring generally indicate a particular interest in something or someone.
